MVP & Roadmap

Phased Evolution

Inflect OS follows a deliberate phased evolution. Each phase builds on the previous one. The architecture supports the full vision from day one — we expose it incrementally. Each phase delivers real value on its own, in the world that exists today.

The eight phases

Phase 1

Governance & Knowledge

Policy engine, knowledge base, role management. The foundation for actor autonomy. Ships first as a standalone product.

Phase 2

Reactive Context

Live semantic models, mount points, multi-source queries. Actors begin assembling their information systems.

Phase 3

Browser & Cockpit

AI-rendered views, the actor's dashboard, subscription management. The first human interface to Inflect OS.

Phase 4

Team & Collaboration

Multi-actor coordination, shared contexts. The network effects begin to form.

Phase 5

Personal Information System

Full actor workspace with boards, contexts, reactive subscriptions. Your sovereign digital space.

Phase 6

Computing Grid

Abstracted compute, device-as-a-service, micro-transactions. Break free from the metal box.

Phase 7

Ambiences

Shared real-time spaces for collaboration, media, social interaction. The multi-actor world.

Phase 8

Inflect OS Native

Native runtime. No hosting layer. The paradigm shift is complete.

Why this order

Phase 1

Governance & Knowledge

What it delivers

The first real product. A governance engine that lets organizations define policies, manage knowledge, and control access — all built on the actor model.

Why now

We start here because governance is the foundation. Before actors can collaborate, they need rules, roles, and shared knowledge. This proves the model in a concrete, valuable use case.

Phase 2

Reactive Context

What it delivers

Live semantic models that actors can query, combine, and subscribe to. Multi-source queries that aggregate data from multiple subscriptions into a single coherent view.

Why now

Once actors have identity and governance, they need context. Reactive context is the bridge between raw subscriptions and meaningful information.

Phase 3

Browser & Cockpit

What it delivers

The first human interface. AI-rendered views that assemble from subscribed streams. A cockpit dashboard showing the actor's system health and active subscriptions.

Why now

The paradigm needs a face. The Cockpit is where humans see their information system for the first time — not as a collection of apps, but as a unified selfspace.

Phase 4

Team & Collaboration

What it delivers

Multi-actor coordination. Shared contexts where teams can collaborate within a common information space. The precursor to ambiences.

Why now

Computing is social. Phase 4 proves that actors can collaborate across boundaries — sharing context without duplicating data.

Phase 5

Personal Information System

What it delivers

The full actor system. Boards, contexts, reactive subscriptions, identity wallet, tool subscriptions. Your complete digital existence under your control.

Why now

This is the first release that delivers on the core promise: you are your own information system.

Phase 6

Computing Grid

What it delivers

Abstract computing resources. Device capacity publishing, compute rental, micro-transactions. Your device becomes a node in a global computing network.

Why now

The grid breaks the last link to the metal box. Computing becomes ambient — available where you need it, on demand.

Phase 7

Ambiences

What it delivers

Shared real-time spaces where multiple actors collaborate. Ambiences inherit resources and content from their participants.

Why now

Ambiences are where the paradigm transcends individual computing. They are the first truly multi-actor information spaces.

Phase 8

Inflect OS Native

What it delivers

The full vision realized. A native runtime that runs on bare metal. The operating system itself is distributed through subscriptions.

Why now

With the paradigm proven, the hosting layer dissolves. Inflect OS becomes what it always aimed to be: a native operating system for actors.

The final operating system isn't the goal. Each phase delivers real value in the world that exists today. The path from Phase 1 to Phase 8 is not a countdown to a single release. It is a continuous evolution of a paradigm — each step expanding what's possible, none requiring you to wait for a distant future.

“Each phase delivers real value on its own, in the world that exists today. The final operating system is not the goal. The paradigm is.”
