Community values
These aren't just aspirations. They're the operating principles that govern how we build together.
Participants, not users
You're not a consumer of this project. You're an actor in it. Your contributions, questions, and perspectives shape the direction of Inflect OS.
Pull, don't push
The holon principle applies here: parent provides the field, children pull what they need. Take initiative on what matters to you.
Chaordic collaboration
Structure enough to function. Fluidity enough to adapt. We keep process light and iterate on it as we grow.
Low barrier, high signal
Anyone can participate. We value clear thinking and respectful discourse over credentials or seniority.
Frequently asked
Do I need to be a developer to participate?
Not at all. Inflect OS needs philosophers, designers, writers, organizers, and domain experts as much as it needs engineers.
Is Inflect OS open source?
Inflect OS follows a different model. Governance, knowledge, and core protocols are open for participation. See the Governance page.
How do decisions get made?
Through a holon governance model. Each actor has autonomy over their domain. Cross-cutting decisions use consent-based processes.
What if I disagree with the direction?
Disagreement is signal. Surface it clearly. In the holon model, friction is energy that leads to better configurations.
How do I stay updated?
Watch the GitHub repository, join discussions, and subscribe to the newsletter (coming soon).
The project is the community
Inflect OS doesn't exist without its actors. Every discussion, every contribution, every question shapes what this project becomes.
